Rumiko Takahashi

When Rumiko Takahashi was 17 years old, her interest in comics was limited to reading them and occasionally copying a character in the margins. Fourteen years later, after the runaway success of such
comics series as Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, and Ranma 1/2, she is arguably Japan's favorite comics artist, with close to 50 million copies of her books in print.
