Children’s data protection and privacy

We only ask children for personal information as is reasonably necessary to enable us to send them newsletters or run competitions. Generally, we do not share children’s information with third parties but if we wish to do so we will ask you or your child first. This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales and venue shall be in the High Court of Justice. If any provision of this agreement is deemed unlawful, void or unenforceable, then such provision shall be severed from the agreement and the remainder of the agreement shall remain.

13. General Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

1. No purchase necessary to enter this prize draw.
2. Only one entry per person allowed. Second or subsequent entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be accepted via agents, third parties or in bulk.
3. Entries must be received before midnight GMT of the closing date. The Orion Publishing Group is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed.
4. The prize draw is open to all residents in the UK and Ireland except employees of the Orion Publishing Group, any associated Hachette company, their families, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the prize draw.
5. The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. The Promoter reserves the right to alter the prizes without notice.
6. The Promoter reserves the right to amend the specification of the prize although every effort will be made to provide prizes of similar quality and value.
7. The winner will be picked randomly from the eligible list of entrants to the prize draw.
8. The winner will be notified by email within 4 weeks of the closing date.

Terms and conditions for The Forest of Hands and Teeth review competition

If you have received a special advance edition The Forest of Hands and Teeth then you are eligible to enter a prize draw. By entering the prize draw, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

1. The prize: An Apple iPhone 3G 8GB (the Promoter will pay the cost of the iPhone and the winner will select either a Pay Monthly or a Pay & Go service contract from the O2 network)
2. No cash alternative to the prize will be available.
3. This competition is only open to residents of the United Kingdom.
4. Entrants must be 13 years old or over to enter this competition and by entering this competition you are confirming that you are 13 years old or over. If the winner is under the age of 18 they must have their parent or guardian’s permission to accept the prize.
