In his new series Adventures in Architecture, Dan Cruickshank takes us to 40 buildings which he believes have changed the world: from the igloo to the Catherine Palace in St Petersburg. Dylan Thomas on the big screen
The Edge of Love, the film which tells the intriguing story of th two women who feature in much of his love poetry, comes to the big screen in June 2008 and stars Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller. To accompany the film Orion is publishing a tie-in collection of love letters.

The Other Man begins filming
Shooting of The Other Man, based on a short story included in Flights of Love by Bernard Schlink starring Antonio Banderas, Laura Linney, Liam Neeson and Romola Garai started on February 14 in Oxford; other film locations include Milan and Lake Como. The film, directed by Richard Eyre, will be released in the UK in November/December 2008.

Kate Winslet to join cast of "The Reader" movie
Following Nicole Kidman’s announced pregnancy and withdrawal from the filming of Bernard Schlink’s The Reader, Kate Winslet has stepped into the role. Filiming has already begun in Berlin under the direction of Stephen Daldry and with Ralph Fiennes joining Winslet and the largely German cast. The Reader is due for release in Spring 2009.

"Rendezvous with Rama" adaptation scheduled for 2009
The screen adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s Rendezvous with Rama is scheduled for release in 2009 and production is underway. The film is being directed by Fight Club’s David Fincher and will star Morgan Freeman.
