Born in 1840, Thomas Hardy is one of the nation's best-known novelists. The author of such classics as FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD, TESS OF THE D'URBERVILLES and JUDE THE OBSCURE, Hardy is renowned for his novels set in the Wessex landscape.
Lilian Harry grew up in Gosport, on the shores of Portsmouth Harbour, and now lives on the edge of Dartmoor with two miniature schnauzers who allow her just enough room on the sofa. Lisa Heidke studied journalism at Queensland University, fled Brisbane and settled in Sydney where she worked in book and magazine publishing.
