He is a Senior Lecturer in Systems at the Open University, and since 1987 has written a weekly column for the Observer which has won him several major awards including three nominations as Critic of the Year. He is also a Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge and the Director of the College's Press Fellowship Programme.

He writes a regular column for TIME OUT and contributes to both INTERZONE and STARBURST. As well as the original Orcs trilogy, his Quicksilver fantasy trilogy has also been an international sensation.
Philip Norman is an English novelist, biographer, journalist and playwright. At the end of the 1960s, as a correspondent for The Sunday Times, he was assigned to investigate and report on the breakup of Beatles' own business, Apple Corps. Norman is the author of SHOUT! and biographies of John Lennon, Buddy Holly, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton.
