Fowler and her husband, who have two grown children, live in Davis and Santa Cruz, California.

She also reads regularly on Radio 4 and has taken over the role as Dr Nikki Alexander in the TV series SILENT WITNESS. Alan Furst is widely recognised as the master of the historical spy novel.
