Sian Thomas

Siân Thomas is an award-winning Welsh actress who trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She has appeared on stage, TV and in films such as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in which she played Amelia Bones. She has won the Martini TMA Award for Best Actress as Yelena in Uncle Vanya on its Renaissance Tour and an Oliver Award Nomination for Best Comedy Performance as Vittoria in Countrymania at the RNT. Sian has read numerous audiobooks including East of the Sun and Sisters in Arms for Orion.
Clive Small Tom Gilling

Paul Toohey

Paul Toohey was born in 1963 and brought up in Perth and Darwin. He first worked in journalism for Darwin newspapers, and then moved to music magazines in Sydney and Melbourne, becoming editor of Rock Australia Magazine. Drawn to stories outside the mainstream media agenda, he later edited Melbourne's Truth newspaper and World magazine. In the early and mid-1990s Toohey had articles published in a variety of journals, including the Age's Good Weekend and the Independent Monthly. These were collected with many unpublished items in his first book, God's Little Acre, for which he travelled around Australia, and to New Zealand, America, Britain and Indonesia. He has since won a Walkley Award and the Graham Perkin Award for journalism. Paul Toohey is now a senior writer for the Bulletin.
Paul Torday

Paul Torday burst on to the literary scene in 2007 with his first novel, SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN, an immediate international bestseller that has been translated into 28 languages and has been made into a film starring Ewan McGregor, Kristin Scott Thomas and Emily Blunt. His subsequent novels, THE IRRESISTIBLE INHERITANCE OF WILBERFORCE, THE GIRL ON THE LANDING, THE HOPELESS LIFE OF CHARLIE SUMMERS, MORE THAN YOU CAN SAY, THE LEGACY OF HARTLEPOOL HALL and LIGHT SHINING IN THE FOREST, were all published to great critical acclaim. He was married with two sons by a previous marriage, had two stepsons, and lived close to the River North Tyne. He died at home in December 2013.
