David Langford is a writer, critic and SF fan who has won innumerable Hugo Awards for his fan writing and for his news magazine ANSIBLE, a legend in SF and fantasy circles. He has been involved with Terry Pratchett's Discworld since the very beginning, and has compiled two Discworld quizbooks, THE UNSEEN UNIVERSITY CHALLENGE and THE WYRDEST LINK.
William Langland

William Langland lived from c.1330 to c.1386. He was born near Malvern and was educated for a career in the Church, but appears to have married and never proceeded beyond minor orders. A.V.C. Schmidt taught at University College, Dublin and Exeter College, Oxford, before becoming Andrew Bradley-James Mazwell Fellow in 1973 at Balliol College, Oxford, where he is Senior English Fellow.

Elmore Leonard was born in New Orleans in 1925. He wrote forty-five books during his phenomenal career, including the bestsellers MR PARADISE, TISHOMINGO BLUES, BE COOL and THE HOT KID. Many have been made into successful movies, including GET SHORTY with John Travolta, OUT OF SIGHT with George Clooney and RUM PUNCH, which became Tarantino's JACKIE BROWN. R.W.B. Lewis

R. W. B. Lewis is a professor in the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is the author of Edith Wharton, which won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award for Biography, and of the James family, among other books. He lives much of the year in Florence, and the rest in Bethany, Connecticut.
Donald Low

Donald A. Low studied at St Andrews and Pembroke College, Cambridge, and was Professor of English Studies at the University of Stirling. His publications on Burns include Poems in Scots and English and The Songs of Robert Burns.
Hans von Luck

Hans von Luck commanded one of Rommel's Panzer Divisions from 1939-44. He was awarded the German Cross in Gold and the Knight's Cross. He was captured by Russians in 1945 and held in a prisoner of war camp until 1950. He is married, with three sons.
