A compelling suspense about a woman who is ghosted by a holiday romance and, unable to accept that it's over, seeks her revenge . . .

'A beautiful and extraordinary debut novel. . . full of intelligence and utterly gripping' Claire Kendal, author of The Book of You

It started with a lie . . .

Skye has finally met someone she can trust. A holiday romance, of all things. But you know when something real comes along, when it's meant to be. Don't you? A week after returning home, and Johnny has disappeared. He hasn't called or returned her messages.

Then, with the easiest of lies, Skye finds a way back in to Johnny's life - and to the people in it. When she makes an unlikely friend, they realise that Johnny is telling lies of his own. So will the two women find a way to bring him down - or each other?

It ended with the truth.

A perfect page-turning read for anyone who has enjoyed I LET YOU GO by Clare Mackintosh,

This is a beautiful and extraordinary debut novel, deeply immersive, intricate and original. Full of intelligence and utterly gripping, it is an all too real story of something that can happen to any person who is consumed by unrequited love, with a heroine who commands our sympathy and intense attention despite - no, because of - her driving impulse to seek understanding by looking where she shouldn't. — Claire Kendal, author of THE BOOK OF YOU

Mistborn: Secret History

Brandon Sanderson
Authors:
Brandon Sanderson

Mistborn: Secret History is a companion story to the original Mistborn trilogy. As such, it contains HUGE SPOILERS for the books Mistborn (The Final Empire), The Well of Ascension, and The Hero of Ages. It also contains very minor spoilers for the book The Bands of Mourning. Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterization, events, and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. Reading it without that background will be a confusing process at best. In short, this isn't the place to start your journey into Mistborn (though if you have read the trilogy - but it has been a while - you should be just fine, so long as you remember the characters and the general plot of the books). Saying anything more here risks revealing too much. Even knowledge of this story's existence is, in a way, a spoiler. There's always another secret.

The dark new thriller from the author of THE THIRD PERSON...The small team of policemen never even identified the dead girl and, for the officers involved, her murder came to symbolise everything that was wrong with the city: a haphazard sprawl of commerce and indifference. Four months on, that group is in disarray. Sean has disappeared into the city's black heart and not returned, and Martin is separated from his job, his wife and his friends. But then a simple note from his ex-partner forces him to re-enter an investigation he'd rather forget. 'I found her', it says. The search leads him from one side of the city to the other, in a downward spiral of violence and pain, and drags him into the orbit of the things that are really wrong with the city: the eight brothers rumoured by legend to have control over everything.
