A.A. Gill

A. A. Gill (1954-2016) was born in Edinburgh. He was the TV and restaurant critic and regular features-writer for the Sunday Times, a columnist for Esquire and contributor to Australian Gourmet Traveller. He was the author of A. A. Gill is Away, The Angry Island, Previous Convictions, Table Talk, Paper View, A. A. Gill is Further Away and The Golden Door, as well as two novels and the memoir Pour Me, which was shortlisted for the 2016 PEN Ackerley Prize. Lines in the Sand, a collection of his journalism in recent years, will be published in 2017.

Andy Williams

Andy Williams was born in rural Iowa in 1927. His solo career began in 1952, since when he has headlined for twenty years at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, hosted one of the most successful and long-running TV shows ever, and toured sell-out concert venues around the world. In the 1990s, Andy designed and built his own state-of-the-art venue, The Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri, where he still performs. With his wife Debbie, he divides his time between homes in Branson and La Quinta, California.

Barry Cryer

Barry Cryer's writing credits include material for Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Bruce Forsyth, Rory Bremner and Jasper Carrott, to name but a few. As if this was not enough, he has also collaboratively penned series like Hello Cheeky! and appears regularly on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, and Just a Minute. He delighted audience with his one-man show The First Farewell Tour. He was made an OBE for services to comedy in 2001.

CARLOS SANTANA was born in Autlán de Navarro, Mexico, in 1947. He is a guitarist, songwriter and founding member of Santana. He has recorded or appeared on more than ninety albums. He lives in Las Vegas with his wife, the drummer Cindy Blackman.http://www.santana.com/

Daniel Barenboim

Daniel Barenboim was born in Buenos Aires in 1942, educated in Rome and made his piano debut at the age of eight and as a solo pianist at the age of eleven with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. His musical tours have taken him all over the world and he has made regular appearances at the Bayreuth, Edinburgh, Lucerne, Prague and Salzburg festivals. In 1967 he married the cellist Jacqueline du Pré (who died in 1987). In 1988 he married Elena Bashkirova. He was musical director of the Paris Orchestra 1975-88, and he has been Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1991 and of the Berlin State Opera since 1992.

Eamonn Holmes

Eamonn Holmes was born in Belfast. After becoming the youngest ever anchor on regional television, he moved to the UK to present GMTV and for twelve years pulled in daily viewing figures of 6 million. However, in February 2005 he announced his decision to leave the show. He currently presents a number of prime time shows for BBC 1, has his own radio programme on 5 LIVE and will launch SKY NEWS BREAKFAST in Autumn 2005. He has four children and lives in London with his family and partner.

Hugh Rowland

Hugh Rowland is a trucker with over 30 years experience. He runs a successful excavation business in British Columbia. He has been married for 25 years to his childhood sweetheart Dianne and has three daughters and two grand children.

Hunter Davies is the author of over thirty books which include such modern classics as the authorised biography of The Beatles, The Glory Game and A Walk Around the Lakes. He has written several other walking books and also a travel biography of Christopher Columbus which took him to the West Indies and the Americas. He was married to the novelist and biographer Margaret Forster from 1961 until her death in 2016.
