Maria King knows a secret London. Born blind, she knows the city by sound and touch and smell but now that surgery has restored her sight, the world seems a scarier place and she doesn't want to see it.

DCI Jonathan Dark also sees a different side to the city. He's in the shadows, haunted by his failure to save a woman from the hands of stalker, and he won't let it happen again.

Now a killer has set his sights on Maria, and Jonathan must find a way to stop him.
But when gathering evidence, you can't choose your source.
Can you save the living by talking to the dead?

An absolutely glorious crime/fantasy/ghost story mash-up. In a seriously crowded genre, A K Benedict has produced something original, quirky and enormous fun...Beautifully written, darkly funny, constantly surprising...my find of the year so far — SHARON BOLTON
AK Benedict is snapping at the heels of Ben Aaronovitch as one of the new stars of the sub-genre of crime with a supernatural twist...A sparkling authorial voice and sassy dialogue keep the weird story grounded but ultimately the novel is, as it should be, haunting — SUNDAY EXPRESS
Wonderfully drawn characters, well-crafted sentences and an eye for just the right detail in the right place — JAMES OSWALD
A K Benedict can write beautifully and has imaginative flair — GUARDIAN
Wonderful! The work on an exquisitely twisted imagination — DAVID MARK
A stunning read. I cannot recommend this book highly enough — CRIME THRILLER GIRL
Thought-provoking and haunting. Gorgeous speculative storytelling — LIZ LOVES BOOKS
The best kind of novel...it's witty, tense, intriguing, brimful of great ideas and so compelling that you have to fight the urge to turn the pages almost faster than you can read it just to find out what happens next — MARK MORRIS
One of those books that crawls under your skin from the very first page...an engrossing story of mystery and danger, love and loss, life and death, but at its heart it's a tale of people and the complicated nature of existence...Not to be missed — EDWARD COX
A wonderfully creepy mystery that charts the hidden corners and metaphysical geography of London. Can't wait to see what A K Benedict does next — MASON CROSS

Rhyming Rings

David Gemmell
Authors:
David Gemmell

David Gemmell was the UK's number one fantasy and historical novelist until his death in 2006. A regular Sunday Times bestseller, and international sensation, his legacy lives on through his novels, his influence on the genre, and through the David Gemmell Legend awards.Rhyming Rings is a never-before-seen Gemmell novel, discovered in his papers by his widow, Stella Gemmell. Merging autobiographical details of Gemmell's life as a journalist in South London with a serial killer and a tinge of the supernatural, this is perfect for fans of David's work, as well as readers of gritty crime novels. Set against the backdrop of a London simmering with poverty, change and racial tension, this taut thriller is a fitting legacy for the great writer. This book includes a brand new introduction from massive Gemmell fan Conn Iggulden, and an afterword by Gemmell's friend Stan Nicholls. An ambidextrous killer is murdering women, leaving virtually no evidence behind, and struggling journalist Jeremy Miller wishes he was covering the case. Instead, he's stuck with heart-warming local stories about paraplegic teenagers and elderly psychic ladies. So when his stories and the murder case start to converge no one is more surprised than Jeremy.Or, it turns out, more at risk.
