Beautiful Liars is a psychological thriller, but it's a lot more than that, too - it explores themes of friendship, of memory, of our pasts and of the lengths we'll go to in order to belong. This is a great character-driven mystery that's as enjoyable as it is satisfying. — Elle Croft
A gripping exploration of friendship and twisted family secrets. Highly recommended. — Cass Green, number one bestseller
A scarily well-drawn narrative about the dark underside of friendship, the lies we tell ourselves, and the way memory distorts reality. Gripping, clever and beautifully written, Isabel Ashdown's star is about to soar. — Phoebe Morgan
A great, twisty thriller, carefully plotted and beautifully written. — Niki Mackay
A tangled web of secrets and lies. — Louise Jensen
A brilliant story of friendship and lies with a twist I never saw coming. — Claire Douglas
Beautiful Liars is a real cracker of a book. I lost count of the twists and yet each worked perfectly. Ashdown is brilliant at hiding clues in plain sight, making for a gasp-out-loud, deeply satisfying read. Her books are getting better and better, which is no mean feat. — Elizabeth Haynes, author of THE MURDER OF HARRIET MONCKTON
A craftily plotted, intricate read. Highly recommended. — Mick Herron, author of LONDON RULES
I absolutely loved Beautiful Liars - it genuinely gripped me immediately as it was so fantastically written with intriguing, vivid characters and I couldn't wait to see how it would all unfold. Rebus: Long Shadows

Ian Rankin
Authors:
Ian Rankin

After twenty-four novels, a career in the police, and a retirement in which he refuses to let go of his past life, former detective John Rebus now finds himself adapted for the stage. He might not be as young as he was, but the detective instincts never leave you. Rebus is embroiled in an old mystery, a cold case that will keep him - and the audience - guessing until the end.The question Rebus may not have an answer for, though, is whether in this new Edinburgh, a city which has moved on from his heyday, he still makes a difference or not.And on the other side of the fence lies his age-old adversary. Ger Cafferty may be getting older too, but he not less deadly. These two titans will clash like never before in a searing new confrontation.Expertly adapted for the stage by the talented Rona Munro, this is a mystery that stands up to scrutiny against a career of murky crimes and gruesome cases -- it's definitely not one to miss out on.

'A cracking thriller and a great female protagonist.' C.J. Tudor, author of Sunday Times Bestseller The Chalk Man'I couldn't put I,Witness down, this is a 2018 must-read' Phoebe Morgan, author of The Doll House*************They say I'm a murderer. Six years ago, Kate Reynolds was found holding the body of her best friend; covered in blood, and clutching the knife that killed her.I plead guilty. There will be more Madison Attalee, I hope.' Radio 4's Dame Jenni Murray'Cracking thriller and a great female protagonist. Swearing, smoking, rock-music loving (and not neurotic or passive!) My kind of woman.' C.J. Tudor, Sunday Times bestselling author of The Chalk Man'I was swept away by this punchy, pacy thriller with its sharp characterisation and confident plotting. I devoured it in a single day. I particularly loved Madison's fabulously chain-smoking, hyper-feminine sharpness. There were so many things done well here - the presentation of domestic abuse, dysfunctional families, the uneven dynamic of female friendships that border on bullying - so much to enjoy. So looking forward to the next one.' Helen Callaghan, author of Sunday Times bestseller Dear Amy'Tough and uncompromising, I, Witness had me totally gripped. I'm looking forward to hearing more from PI Madison Attalee.' Alex Lake, author of Killing Kate, After Anna and Copy Cat'I couldn't put I,Witness down. A hugely accomplished novel with a dark, sad story at its heart - the characters are so well drawn that I felt every twist along with them as Mackay expertly manipulates the reader.
