This quirky and enjoyable ghost story is Cally Taylor's first novel after finishing as runner-up in Woman's Own's 2006 short story competition. **** (4 stars)
Heaven Can Wait is, in all honesty, the best book I have read so far this year. I couldn't put it down, and quite frankly, have never read a book that made me literally laugh and cry all the way through.
The story is told with a light touch and buckets of humour. Beware - once you have started it, you will not be able to put it down¿ This novel is a real treat to savour.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and found myself ploughing through it incredibly quickly because I just couldn't put it down¿ It's a great book to read, and one for the cold winter evenings to warm your heart. Brilliant.
The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that it had to end. This is a very strong debut and one that I highly, highly recommend.
The perfect blend of funny, smart and --sob -- pass the Kleenex, this might just be the best chicklit debut of the year.
